Cassidy A. Swanson is an L.A born musician, composer, arranger and sound designer. He graduated from the California Institute of the Arts with a B.F.A in Music Theory and Composition with an emphasis in Film and Video. As an experienced music composer and sound designer, Cassidy primarily creates music for visual mediums such as film, animation and video games. As an undergraduate, Cassidy composed and produced sound design for numerous artists of varying skills and expertise including film, character design, digital entertainment, dance, and theater. Cassidy has written numerous concert pieces for a wide array of styles and instruments. Although Cassidy is willing and able to compose and perform for most genres, his works often feature, but are not limited to action, jazz, classical, pop, house, ambiance, symphonic, electronic, rock, and horror. Since his childhood, Cassidy was fascinated by the music one would see in 90’s animations; such as the Powerpuff Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog, or Samurai Jack. As well as Japanese animation like Sailor Moon, Yu Yu Hakusho, or Akira. Recently, music from Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe and Blizzard games like Starcraft II have pushed him to compose and create sounds commercially and for a wide audience. Cassidy’s work attempts to amplify the visual medium it is connected to, such that an audience is able to connect to the strongest degree emotionally to the art they are viewing. He strives to work with companies that will allow him to express his own unique style in the hopes of influencing future generations; so that they might feel the passion that he too received from his childhood inspirations. Cassidy believes that with every piece of art there is a voice to be heard and a song to be sung. And it is his wish to help that sound come to life.
